First off, I would like to apologize to anyone who found this entry by searching for information about fat samurai movies. I have no Forrest Whitaker for you and for that I am deeply sorry.
I dreamed about a dog last night. Specifically, about a black German Shepherd, and I got along with this dog so well in my dream that I woke up fully convinced it was my animal familiar.
Did I mention that I usually wake up out of my friggin’ mind?
I’m not sure that I really believe in animal familiars, or that if I do, that mine wouldn’t be an obese cat. But I’ve been thinking about what could have contributed to this image in my dream and I can’t remember anything I saw in my waking life, so I started digging around dream symbolism sites once I regained my senses.
I started out with “black German Shepherd,” you know, just in case any dream dictionary out there was super specific and I could just knock out this research in one go. No dice, unsurprisingly. However, there was an entry for a German Shepherd:
“To see a German Shepherd in your dream highlights your protective instincts and attentiveness to a situation. This is no time for your to be nervous and/or lose control.”
As well as one for a black dog:
“To see a black colored dog in your dream symbolizes the shadow aspect of a friend. The dark side of someone close to you is being revealed and you are able to see through to their true intentions.”
Which is pretty interesting, because although the dog from my dream seemed to like me a lot, it did have a problem when someone I know sat down next to us. And that’s about all I’m willing to say about it, since like I said, I might just be out of my mind.
I can confidently say that what did not happen in this dream was another entry on the dream dictionary site, which, ohmygod, what in the hell are people dreaming about, anyway?
