Ephemera Etc. is one year old today! Blog City tech support says my subscription has been extended until November, at which point the WordPress export should be available and I’ll move there. I’ll remind everyone then, but in case you’d like to bookmark in advance (and pleasepleaseplease do so, as it can be balls to get people to follow you to a new location), the link is www.erineph.com. Also http://www.erineph.wordpress.com, so use whichever you like best.
Like I said, it’s fucking hard getting people to follow you somewhere else. I learned it the hard way when I came here from MySpace. You can think you’re not an Internet narcissist all you want, but:
a.) if you weren’t you wouldn’t be here in the first place, and
b.) going from 7,000 views a week to 2,000 hurts a lot more than it should.
Not that I’m complaining about 2,000 views a week. It’s better than nothing and I am really, truly, embarrassingly happy that anyone cares about what I have to say at all. I had my original blog for three years before I moved to Blog City and (bragging!) had a shitload more views back then, but I feel like my writing has gotten better since I’ve come here, and I have the viewer IP addresses to prove it.
(Speaking of, hey there, Person Who Seems To Be Systematically Reading Through My Stuff! I hope you’re enjoying my archives, and don’t forget to bookmark erineph!)
I’m still immensely proud of my blog being found by people Googling “Why is Alan Rickman so awesome?” and, alternately, “Why does Alan Rickman suck?” but today I found the single most entertaining referral link ever: someone came (ha, came!) from http://www.freesextubevideos.com.
Hot stuff!
Christ, that was a lot of exclamation points. Now I’m all worn out. So, um….I guess? Here’s a playlist. Because what better way to celebrate another year of writing than by posting something that has nothing to do with anything you wrote at all.
