March and what has so far passed for April have been ridiculous. My social calendar (listen to me, talking like a civilized lady!) has been full pretty much all this time, and while I finally feel engaged with other human beings for a change, I will take any opportunity to go to bed. Not actually sleeping is not a concern; I’ve been borrowing books and the ever-growing size of the Netflix Watch Instantly queue gets me all hot and bothered.
(Watched No Impact Man on a recent Saturday afternoon. It was okay. The original NYT article was more interesting, and the guy’s wife looks so eerily like Graham’s ex-girlfriend that I got a little weirded out watching her walk around her apartment.)
But lying around in bed feels wrong when the weather’s been so beautiful for days, so I made an If I Owned A Used Bookstore on a Sunny Day playlist. This follows up on my rainy day playlist, which I wrote for my East Coast friends during their hundredth snowstorm of the year.
(Ahem…pretty much all of my playlists are determined based on the fantasy of me owning a used bookstore, which, like all of my business ownership fantasies, is predicated entirely upon me winning a $200+ million lottery someday (yes, I have considered the gift tax). I should mention that I am aware that I am unlikely to own a bookstore someday, and I agree with some blogger I can’t remember let alone link, in that being a bookstore owner is one of those make-believe jobs that people only have in movies, similar to being a wedding planner or a “PR executive.”)
But anyway, here’s the If I Owned a Used Bookstore During a Sunny Day playlist:
